About HK Therapy
Hi, I’m Hilary.
I’m not a blank slate kind of therapist—I show up as a real person in the room with you. My approach is relational, somatic, and trauma-informed, rooted in deep respect for your lived experience and inner wisdom. I believe healing happens through connection: to self, to body, to others. In therapy, we slow down and listen—not just to thoughts, but to sensations, patterns, and the parts of you that may have been silenced or pushed aside.
Before I became a therapist, I was a costume designer—collaborating with signers and dancers, directors and creative teams to develop productions from the inside out. That work taught me how to listen closely to what’s not being said, to attune to body language and nuance, and to hold the layers of a person’s story with care.
Working in theater also meant moving through a wide range of cultural worlds, identities, and ways of being. It deepened my appreciation for how context shapes us—how we learn to adapt, protect, perform, and survive. As a therapist, I carry that same respect for complexity into the room. I’m always curious about the roles you've had to play, the ones you’re ready to let go of and the ones you may still be discovering.
Therapy with me is collaborative, creative, and grounded in the belief that healing looks different for everyone. There’s no single script—we write it together.
